EDITING
I’m flexible on the nature of editing projects, but most projects will fall into one of two categories, a manuscript assessment or a developmental edit.
A manuscript consultation is a full read of the manuscript with feedback in the form of a detailed, multi-page editorial letter with notes about the manuscripts strengths and weaknesses, recurring issues, and suggestions for revision. It will include some notes in the text but is not a full line-by-line markup of the text. My rate for a manuscript consultation is $90/5,000 words. That works out to $1,080 for a 60,ooo word manuscript, $1,350 for a 75,000 manuscript, etc.
A developmental edit is also a full read of the manuscript with an editorial letter, but includes more in-depth commentary within the manuscript, including line- and page-level issues. Pricing can vary a bit more on development edits based on how much work the manuscript needs and how in-depth an edit the writer wants. With a writing sample and some discussion about your goals, I can offer a project quote.
MENTORSHIP
Mentorship or coaching is a flexible service we can tailor to what you’re looking for. It can be anything from general questions and advice on writing to in-depth, ongoing work on completing or revising a project.
My general rate for mentorship is: $90/hour
For 3+ hours bought together: $85/hour
For ongoing mentorship in 3-month increments (3+ hours/month): $75/hour
